What is Wing Chun?

Wing Chun is a Southern Chinese Self Defence art which was invented 300 years ago by a Buddhist nun named Ng Moy. It was refined by her student, a lady by the name of Yim Wing Chun. The name Wing Chun literally means "Springtime Song." Wing Chun is an interesting form of combat which doesn't use the force-against-force style of Japanese Karate or Korean TaeKwonDo. Wing Chun is simple, quick effective and economical. No brute strength. Low kicks, straight punches and immediate counterattacks are the trademark of Wing Chun. A form of 108 movements contains almost the entire art. Wing Chun is one of the most effective systems ever to have come out of China.
