Sticking Hands Fighting Tips
- Above all, have a firm stance, relax and keep to your position.
- When contact is lost, do the chain punch.
- When you get hit, hit back. This tends to prevent you from
stiffening up.
- You could always defend by always sticking.
- Try to always have a guarding hand.
- If you push, then always start from a completely relaxed state. In
this way, the push has a much stronger force.
- Have one arm outside the opponent's two arms. Use one arm to control
two.
- Always try to relax.
- Use the Jum sau or Sinking hand to compress and stiffen up the
opponent and then hit.
- Try to tense up the opponent. Low Fook sau (Controlling hand) hits
are one tactic. Jerk a stiff force.
- If someone were to take a photo in the middle of your combat then
does your form look like Wing Chun or wrestling? If your postures are
not correct then you are using force against force. Grandmaster Cheng
Man Ching from Yang style Tai Chi said "Do your form as if you had a
real opponent but do your pushing hands as if you were doing the form."
