Principles Explanations

Throughout the centuries various Wing Chun fighting principles have been handed down. These principles are often stated very concisely and must be interpreted before the full meaning is arrived at.

The principles were a simple way for people to remember what to do in an actual fight. Often these principles were meant for the uneducated as guidelines.

For every principle there has to be some understanding. There are often exceptions. The blind application of principles can get you into trouble. Ignoring the principles gets you into even more trouble.

For the sake of interest, the original Chinese principles along with an English equivalent is given.
